Course 10: Beginners Introduction to HTML Web Design - Contents

Purpose:
Too many web designers these days tend to use 'web creation' packages such as Dreamweaver or FrontPage. These programs neither work correctly or give the enthusiastic student the ability to improve their actual HTML skills.
This course is designed to teach people HTML from first principles, and to help the student create their first web site using HTML markup tags.
By the time you complete this course, you should not only feel confident at creating your own web pages from scratch, but also see the benefit of using a RISC OS based computer in order to make your work more productive and efficient.

Lesson Plan

Lesson 1 - Getting started - an introduction to HTML tags
Lesson 2 - Adding font effects such as changing size and colour
Lesson 3 - Adding and understanding images and different graphics formats
Lesson 4 - Adding graphics and images to your web page.
Lesson 5 - Hyperlinks and adding anchor tags.
Lesson 6 - Introduction to tables and simple page layout.
Lesson 7 - Creating a simple web based form.
Lesson 8 - Validating and proof-reading your web page.
Lesson 9 - Attracting visitors and search engines.
Lesson 10 - Summary and utilising your new skills.
