Once in a while I come across a topic which makes me wonder if I have bitten off more than I can chew. This is one such topic.
HAARP stands for High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program and is a US Department of Defence project into Ionospheric research, based at Gakona, Alaska.
It's real purpose seems disguised and suppressed under a huge veil of secrecy and denials, but it's implications are world-wide and could be literally Earth shattering.
Although not many people have heard of HAARP, it has been an ongoing project since the early 1990's when a military contractor called E-Systems started building the complex. It is not scheduled to be fully operational until 2002, although some people claim it may be operational as early as 1998.
I discovered the HAARP project about a year or two ago whilst I was carrying out my own research into the works of Tesla, the unsung hero and discoverer of radio and AC power. It seems that the US government are aware of some of the discoveries of Tesla and are trying to recreate them on a huge scale for their own purposes - which I believe to be rather sinister and dangerous for the rest of us.
In fact, the more I researched HAARP, the more I became amazed that it has not hit the major headlines or that environmental activists such as Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth haven't expressed major public concern.
As you will see within this article, the purpose of HAARP is far from clear. In fact it seems that the US military have deliberately muddied the water amongst volumes of paperwork and confusion to specifically confuse people as to what is really happening.
The history of HAARP reads like one of those confusing novels where different people, events and places are introduced in every paragraph, so that by the end of the first chapter you are thoroughly confused and give up trying to read the book.
Officially, HAARP is described as a facility for upper atmosphere and solar-terrestrial research, including a high power phased radio array transmitter used to "stimulate small, well-defined volumes of ionosphere", together with a number of devices for measuring atmospheric changes.
Although the official documents go into some detail as to what can be observed and measured, they become more vague as to what can actually be transmitted using the system. I'm not surprised, given all the science fiction like rumours of what can be done.
What is not up for discussion and debate is the fact that the complex actually exists. The photos within this article prove that. The problem is finding out what is really going on, so perhaps we should start by trying to unravel how it all started.
It seems that the trail of mystery concerning the original contracts to build the HAARP complex in Alaska starts with some patents originally presented by Tesla, including ones for transmitting power without wires, obtaining nuclear sized explosions without radiation and methods to alter a region of the Earth's atmosphere, amongst others - Twelve in total.
Many of these patents were invented by an engineer called Bernard J.Eastlund and owned by a small company called APTI (more of which later). Eastlund was working as a consultant for a company called ARCO (Atlantic Richfield Oil Company), being originally hired to come up with a way of utilising vast reserves of natural gas held on the North Slope of Alaska.
The problem with all this vast reserve of gas was that the location was so remote there was no use for that kind of power usage on location and the cost of piping the gas to more convenient, populated areas would be prohibitive.
Eastlund began thinking as to how this huge, billion watts of power could be put to use and came up with an idea to create the world's biggest "ionospheric heater". Immediately the defence implications became apparent. The ionosphere is a region of the Earth's atmosphere some 40 to 600 miles above the surface and is basically what protects us from the solar energy from the sun and also what bounces back radio waves so that we can send signals around the planet.
By manipulating the ionosphere the military realised they could control global communications. Enemy radios and satellites could be rendered useless, and by knowing what you were doing you could adjust the system so that you could use it to implement your own communication system.
This Tesla inspired technology was what was to become the US Strategic Defence Initiative (SDI), or "Star Wars" system, popularised by the Reagan administration in the 1980's.
Some of the military applications of this type of Tesla were voiced by Tesla himself in a New York Times article of December 8th 1915 in which he stated, "It is perfectly practicable to transmit electrical energy without wires and produce destructive effects at a distance. I have already constructed a wireless transmitter which makes this possible and have described it in my technical publications, among which I refer to my patent number 1,119,732 recently granted."
On Nov. 3rd 1993 the US Air Force announced that the main contract to build HAARP was to go to ARCO Power Technologies (APTI), which at the time was a subsidiary of ARCO.
According to the Dun & Bradstreet directory of corporations, APTI only had 25 employees and sales of $5 million a year. How did such a small subsidiary get such a large contract; worth more than five times APTI's annual sales. HAARP investigator Nick Begich saw that the only way such a small company could get such a contract was if they had proprietary information needed by the project.
This trail circled back to the Eastlund patents mentioned earlier. Although the various companies denied doing research into the areas the patents spoke of, it seems unlikely that APTI got the contract because of anything but owning the relevant patents required by the project.
After the military contract was awarded however, APTI was sold to E-Systems under undisclosed terms. APTI had shown no net income since it opened in the late 1980's which added to the puzzle of the sale. E-Systems now assumed control of the patents. It seems that this was the only reason E-Systems wanted to buy APTI. After all, APTI had no net income and no major assets apart from the twelve patents and an unfunded second phase of a construction contract.
It is quite clear that the HAARP project intends to use the ionosphere for military purposes, but at the present moment it is unclear exactly what. However, it does seem that such a project can be a sort of multi-purpose system - handy when you are trying to get funding for something, when there can be so many potential benefits, such as transmitting power cheaply or repairing the ozone hole.
However, it seems that the problems and potential dangers far outweigh the publicised benefits of the project. For example, it seems that HAARP could well be responsible for creating the ozone hole in the first place, along with the huge amount of rocket fuel released into the atmosphere by the US space program each time they launch a rocket or space shuttle.
It appears, during the course of my research, that the perceived danger of aerosol cans releasing CFC's into the atmosphere and creating the ozone hole is an exaggerated myth spread by the government to cover up the fact that far more damage is being done by their own 'games'.
So much seems experimental about the whole project that No HAARP campaign founder Clare Zickuhr said, "The military is going to give the ionosphere a big kick and see what happens".
"They're like boys playing with a sharp stick, finding a sleeping bear and poking it in the butt to see what's going to happen", said Barbara Zickuhr.
However, the problems are not only for the US military, for the implications are for the whole Earth. If they do something which could cause irreversible damage to the ionosphere, it could render the atmosphere useless to protect us from the Solar radiation constantly emanating from the Sun.
What we do know is that the Government has continued to lie about the project. They hid the interaction of the original twelve patents and also kept one particular document - PL-GP Technical Memorandum no.195 so secret it has been kept from the public's eye to this day. It explains the military applications of the project were supposed to be sanitized before public release.
Another interesting aspect of the HAARP project, one which has been less hidden to the public eye is that of weather modification. Using the technology involved in HAARP beneficial effects can be created such as changing the molecular composition of portions of the atmosphere, for example, increasing levels of ozone, nitrogen etc.
The environment could also be enhanced by creating the breakup of chemicals such as carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. Thus HAARP could be utilised to diminish the effects of the Greenhouse Effect.
However, I think the most worrying aspect of it is the amount of mist and secrecy surrounding the whole thing. It is obvious after minimum investigations that the government are hiding the real agenda, and by reading through the twelve patents (details in future issues) we can get a feel for some of the ideas that are possible.
Some sound like science fiction stories, but often truth is stranger than fiction and I would rather be aware of possible mind control techniques beaming ELF frequencies around the world to modify behaviour patterns.
Even if some ideas sound fanciful or far-fetched, I think the concepts should be brought to the attention of the public, so that more questions can be asked and the government is forced to come clean about its plans for the system. After all, we only have a very short time before the system is operational and by then it could be too late.
Because HAARP can be used to pinpoint its effects either over a large or small area, it may be worth further investigation to see if we can detect signs of its power. For example, using HAARP it is more than possible to knock out not just communications but also electronic systems. It's a disconcerting thought, but could HAARP testing have been responsible for the explosion of flight TWA-800 which spontaneously exploded over Long Island on July 17th 1996?
Certainly HAARP is capable of doing such a thing, as this was one of the original aims of the Star Wars projects, to destroy enemy planes and missiles whilst still airborne.
I have only just scratched the surface of this major controversial and conspiracy ridden project. Expect to see more updates in future articles as I find out more to report on.
