Firstly I would like to apologise if this issue is slightly thinner than usual. This is because a lot is happening at the moment and I wanted to get news of the latest research out, so that people can keep right up to date with developments. I hope to get another issue out before the end of the crop circle season, in which I will include a round-up of this years crop formations.
As I write, a new formation has just been discovered south of Stonehenge, consisting of over 100 varying sized circles, forming what is a huge 'Julia' set fractal image. A Julia set is a sub-set of the Mandlebrot image, and this formation is certainly very elaborate.
So far, there are no circles in the Cheesefoot Head area, but I am monitoring this area very closely, and have already taken electro-static and radio frequency readings, so that if any events do occur, I will have some control readings to compare any new readings with.
I am also busy developing my unique crop circle analysis computer program, called Thoth. This was briefly mentioned in the last issue, but since then has had a whole list of additional features added. This is one of the benefits of being both a computer programmer and crop circle researcher, in that I don't need to explain to a third person, what specifications I need for the program, so it works very much like sculpture. I can modify it and improve it as research progresses.
At present it is not a commercial program, and is purely a valuable research tool for The Independent Research Centre for Unexplained Phenomena's ongoing scientific investigations.
Readers of Enigma will hopefully see the fruits of it's results in future issues.
The really exciting development, and the main reason for getting this issue out as soon as possible, is my 'discovery' of the view from Hale-Bopp comet matches the Longwood Warren crop formation at a time in the not-too-distant future. This research forms the key article in this issue.
I hope the article is not too technical for the non-scientific orientated readers, but there are a number of rather difficult concepts to get across. Enigma was originally created to be a research journal, detailing technical results from scientific investigations. However, I do try, wherever possible, to write in lay-mans terms so that all readers can understand - whatever their technical knowledge or background.
